ASP Nuke Mail Message System
by Kenneth Richards - Tuesday, January 27, 2004
from the Development dept.

As suggested in our forums, the current ASP Nuke release uses CDONTS for its messaging system which is a deprecated feature. I have created an ASP class to abstract the messaging process and added a configuration parameter to allow users to choose which messaging component they wish to use.

This change will be published in the next release of ASP Nuke and will be integrated with all of the mails that are sent out through ASP Nuke. Thanks to Philip Dearmore (pdearmore) for this suggestion.

I have been developing a lot more of the code libraries using ASP classes and find that it makes things a lot easier to maintain and a lot less error prone. Gradually, all of the library code will be moved to classes. I'm sure that you noticed quite a few new classes in the current release (0.7) under the /lib/class folder.
