ASP Nuke Tasks:

Where did all of the Articles Go?
by Kenneth Richards - Monday, January 05, 2004
from the Development dept.

It seems as if all of the posts have disappeared from the ASP Nuke site. This is the result of my short vaction and an illness that has prevented my work on this site. Rest assured, this project is still under active development and new developments will be posted soon.

Primarily, we are going to launch a translation project that will allow anyone who has access to this site to do translation work for all of the text found on the site. This includes input form labels, error messages, module text and various navigation elements.

What is not included are the integrated help documents and any of the long API documentation that are found on this site. These could definitely use some translation as well, but most important is the site interface so that will take precedence.

Creating comprehensive documentation for the site is one of the next tasks on my list and should consume a lot of my time up until the 1.0 release. For now, the integrated help system will have to serve as the ASP Nuke documentation for now. It is pretty comprehensive in covering the various "adminable" aspects of the application.

Another goal of ours is to create a simple upgrade path when migrating from one version of ASP Nuke to another. This would be done by creating a database script which will do the schema modifications and data preservation needed to preserve your current ASP Nuke configuration and data. So far this is just in the planning stages and I hope to provide this feature for ASP Nuke site operators sometime in the future.

I hope that you all had a happy holiday season! I really enjoyed my "very short" time off and am looking forward to the new year. It is time to pull up my bootstraps and get back to work.
