Final Development Tasks
by Kenneth Richards - Tuesday, October 14, 2003
from the Development dept.
We are in the final stages of cleaning everything up. Next we will be working on packaging all of the files, creating a readme and install instructions and then the package will be posted for download. The source code should be available very soon.
We just finished up the module administration so that you can edit, re-arrange and modify module definitions. You can reposition modules in the three main content areas (left, middle and right columns) for the site. I've tried to keep everthing as efficient as possible on the web server.
Unfortunately, the menu system and the quotes below are not modular yet. I'm not sure if this is going to happen by the time the code releases. I still need to work on a generic module configuration system.
Also, the site updater (which is documented under the documentation menu) will not be making it in this first release. I had hoped to get a lot more done than I did, but I came down with a cold and haven't had time to do a lot of work.
Our registration with SourceForge is complete. By the time they have had time to review and publish our project, we should have the first version of the source available. This should hopefully happen tommorow at the latest.
